Kenneth D. Price launched GraniteRG.com in February 2007 after meetings and conversations with entrepreneurs, community leaders, and professionals in Cincinnati OH, Atlanta GA, Fort Lauderdale FL, and other cities throughout the US. What became clear is a widely held interest in a resource for thoughtful consideration of public policy, topics, and strategies for improving conditions in America's cities and the families residing in them. Individuals often cited the need for discourse on these issues, particularly in light of an important 2008 general election. Subsequent to these discussions, GraniteRg.com founders looked at the marketplace for hosting national conversations, ultimately forming this repository to fill a space for research that advocates on behalf of the dispossessed segments of American society. The Internet poses the greatest potential for reaching a broad audience in an efficient manner. Through this work, GraniteRG.com is committed to closing the digital divide in the realm of grassroots analysis and mobilization.
